as salamu alaykum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatahu. may Allah direct you to obedience of Him ameen, today a day allthe rest, kindof... nice day mashaa Allah productive at times, may Allah accept all my actions including housework as ibaadah ameen. I have a nice book mashaa Allah about fasting ramadan is soon inshaa Allah, im soooooo excited ! (all invites greatfully accepted lol)the books called fasting in ramadan as observed by the prophet (peace be upon him) its by Saleem al Hilaalee and 'Alee 'Abdul Hameed who are two students of Shaykh Nasir-ud deen Al Albani (raheemahullah) with the permission of Allah will post some virtues of fasting in the fasting section, as we all know fasting is not just for ramadan.....

He (sal Allahu alayhi was sallam) said:

"fasting and the Qur'aan intercede for the servant on the Day of ressurection. Fasting will say : O my Lord I prevented him from food and desires so accept my intercession for him, and the Qur'aan will say :I prevented him from sleep at night, soo accept my intercession for him, so their intercession will be accepted."

Reported by Ahmed (no.6626), al Haakim (1/554), Aboo Nu'aim (8/161) and others from 'Abdullah ibn 'Amr, and its chain of narration is hasan

something that also comes to mind about fasting is the abstaining from backbiting and the like, it should be abstained from at all times but unfortunately its something that pops its ugly head up now and again!

لسانك لا تذكر به عورة امرئ *** فكلّـك عورات وللناس ألسـن
وعينك إن أبدت إليك معايباً *** فدعها وقل : يا عين للناس أعينُ

Let not your tongue mention the shame of another For you yourself are covered in shame and all men have tongues. If your eye falls upon the sins of your brotherShield them and say: "O my eye! All men have eyes!"

its as if ppl think they wont be judged on their speech, as if their accountable for nothing... as if theres no consequence...

Allah says:

مَا يَلْفِظُ مِن قَوْلٍ إِلَّا لَدَيْهِ رَقِيبٌ عَتِيدٌ

Not a word does he (or she) utter, but there is a watcher by him ready (to record it). (Qaf 50:18)
